Racers facing 2-3 foot seas in the Gulf of Mexico and 25 mph headwinds took its toll, losing almost 3\/4ths of the racers in the Everglades Challenge and 2\/3rds of Ultimate Challenge racers which is why many consider it to be the toughest small-boat race worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Rod\u2019s passion for canoeing is equal to his love of nature and exploring the places he travels.
