Paul was born on April 14, 1945 to his parents,<\/p>\n

Harold and Alice Buck in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is<\/p>\n

the fourth of five children. He graduated from<\/p>\n

Indianapolis Tech High School in 1964, and was<\/p>\n

drafted into the army in October of 1965. Paul served<\/p>\n

in Vietnam from May of 1966 to June of 1967, and got<\/p>\n

out of the army in October 1967. He says that Vietnam<\/p>\n

had a lasting effect on him, and many of his poems<\/p>\n

are based on things he saw in the war.<\/p>\n

Mr. Buck hired on with Trans World Airlines in<\/p>\n

October of 1967, and worked for them in Indianapolis,<\/p>\n

St. Louis, and later in Orlando, Florida. When<\/p>\n

American Airlines bought out TWA, Paul worked for<\/p>\n

American until his retirement.<\/p>\n

Paul met his wife, Linda Toney, on a blind date in<\/p>\n

1970, and eloped six weeks later. Paul and Linda<\/p>\n

have two sons, Jason and Adam. They also have one<\/p>\n

grandson and three granddaughters. Unfortunately,<\/p>\n

Paul lost Linda to breast cancer in 2009. Losing Linda<\/p>\n

hit him very hard, but he says that he is very grateful<\/p>\n

for the 39 great years they had together.<\/p>\n

Paul recently fought, and beat, stage 4 lung<\/p>\n

cancer. He says the battle has taken a toll on his<\/p>\n

energy level, but he is not about to give up. Mr. Buck<\/p>\n

now resides in St. Cloud, Florida where he is a<\/p>\n

member of the American Legion Post 80 in St. Cloud,<\/p>\n

FL, and is a lifetime member of the Veterans of<\/p>\n

Foreign Wars Post 4225 in Kissimmee, FL. He was<\/p>\n

also a long time member and on the board of the<\/p>\n

Military History Museum in Kissimmee before his<\/p>\n

recent health problems kept him from doing his<\/p>\n

volunteer work.<\/p>\n
