The researcher and author of this book was born in rural Baltimore County, Maryland<\/p>\n

to Lloyd and Catherine Greninger Weidemeyer on 12 June 1933. He attended schools in<\/p>\n

Baltimore County; obtained his BA degree in Political Science and History from the<\/p>\n

University of Maryland; entered graduate studies at the University of Florida and obtained a<\/p>\n

Juris Doctorate degree from Stetson University Law School. He is admitted to the practice of<\/p>\n

law in Florida and the District of Columbia, Washington D.C.; to the U.S. District Courts in<\/p>\n

Florida and D.C., the U.S. Courts of Appeal in New Orleans, Atlanta and D.C. and to the<\/p>\n

Supreme Court, and has practiced in each during his legal career.<\/p>\n

This research commenced about 1940 when, as a child, he gathered and obtained as<\/p>\n

much information as his maternal grandmother could provide. Her encouragement fostered a<\/p>\n

life-long interest fueled by paternal family artifacts and records supplied by Thomas and<\/p>\n

John V. Weidemeyer, who served as rural postmasters in Maryland around the turn of the<\/p>\n

century.<\/p>\n

Having authored numerous books, articles and periodicals on genealogy, law and<\/p>\n

entertainment, he often served as lecturer for genealogical seminars and legal courses.<\/p>\n

As historian for the Weidemeyer Family Association, he researched and published numerous<\/p>\n

articles and biographies for <\/span>Weidemeyer World <\/span><\/i>Newsletter. Although he was recipient of<\/span><\/p>\n

numerous awards for civic activities, he is most proud of having been selected <\/span>Shipmate of<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

the Year <\/i><\/span>by Annapolis Branch 24 and by the Eastern Division of the Fleet Reserve in 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

He was a U.S. Navy Aviator during the Korean War in Squadrons VX4, VW2,<\/p>\n

Experimental, Early Warning and Hurricane Hunter Squadrons. For several years he served<\/p>\n

as an officer and as Historian for his Navy Squadron Reunion Committee and authored a<\/p>\n

history of the evolution and designations of the squadron from inception prior to World War<\/p>\n

II until it was disestablished in 1966.<\/p>\n

During his career as an officer and as counsel for his local and for The American<\/p>\n

Federation for Musicians, he authored a <\/span>Handbook for Arbitration of Musical and<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Entertainment Contracts and Claims <\/i><\/span>and served as editor for the <\/span>Ad Lib <\/span><\/i>monthly newsletter<\/span><\/p>\n

for his Local. Following retirement, he authored a <\/span>History of the Musicians\u2019 Association of<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Clearwater<\/i><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 1962 he married Diane Draper. They have four children: Karen Lea W. Fixler,<\/p>\n

Kurt Lloyd Weidemeyer, Katherine Jean W. Kujumdziev and Linda Kristen W. Christian;<\/p>\n

eleven grandchildren (nine of whom are living at the time of publication of this book) and 2<\/p>\n

great-grandsons.<\/p>\n
